Being global citizens, we have started to push towards living in holistic harmony.
We, at Niko, consciously assess impacts of our social, ecological and economic activities on people & planet. Aiming for mindfulness slow-down and systemized longevity in each aspect and perspective of designing and manufacturing.
Each Niko piece is made in 925 Sterling silver. The Gold pieces are plated in thick layer of 14K or 18K gold (Gold vermeil) and Silver pieces are plated in rhodium for extra longevity and to protect your silver base from tarnishing. Niko Jewels are hypo-allergic and the thick coating makes the product water friendly.
We are moving towards manufacturing each Niko jewel from recycled silver as we progress towards implementing circular design in our operations. Starting from our manufacturing to packaging, we are devoted to balancing our supply chain to contribute our best to society and the environment.
We set goals for ourselves to always move upward on the sustainability ladder.
What exactly does it mean when we say that a piece is made from recycled silver?
A lot of products around us, like old jewellery, medical equipment, electronics and giftware, contain some amount of silver. Metal is extracted from these products and using the melting process silver, and other metal alloys are separated. Silver is then transformed into workable wires, sheets & grains. There is NO loss of purity in the recycling process.
Niko jewellery is ethically made in India. What do we mean by that?
We are committed to making sure that every company and unit we partner with are free from child labour or forced labour. Our partners adopt fair trade practices to ensure good working conditions and have the utmost respect for the environment and its precious resources.
